Hi - When working in VS2008 and dragging a new instance of WebTextEditor onto the Design view, the images used on the Editor do not appear. However, when the project is ran from IE8, it works fine.
Is there soemthing simple I am missing - will be very useful to be able to see how the control renders in Design View.
Thx
Francois
Hi Francois,
Do you use FileSystem? If yes, the issue could happened because the image is located at CommonLibrary which located at IIS. And FileSystem cannot access the folder that is causing the image missing in design view. Have you try register SmartWebResources (right click on WebGrid in design and choose "register SmartWebResources") ?
Regards,
Julia
Thanks Julia
I have registered SmartWebResources (in fact it was registered before this problem occured.
In the developement environment the website runs on the ASP Developement Server, and the images show up fine when running - it is only in the Design View of VS2008 that the images are not showing up.
The other strange thing is that when I load one of the sample pages for WebTextEditor in Visual Studio, the images do show up in the Design View.
Any further thoughts?
Thanks
Have you use our latest WebTextEditor hotfix? You can update it using UpdateManager. After that you can do the following steps:
- Close your Visual Studio program >> run iisreset
- Delete all the files on C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files
Hope this help.
I have tried all the above - still the Images do not show up in VS 2008 Design View (although it works fine when compiled and running.
I have also noted the following:
Please inform me how to fix this, since it hampers my developement in VS.
It seems that it happen to be a strange behavior. You can do the following steps:
- close your VS program > clear all files in 'Temporary ASP.NET' > run iisreset, as I written before
- Go to Run > type 'inetmgr' > right click on CommonLibrary > Manage Application > Advance Settings > Application Pool > change to Classic .NET AppPool.
Please let me know if this work on you.
