Will the WebFileUploader work in each row of a WebGrid.
I could not find an samples using both. Any would be helpful.
What is the best way to implement it?
Do I need a Template Column?
Can I batch upload for all the rows?
Thanks,
Doug
I’m currently discussing this topic with WebGrid development team.I’ll keep you updated with any news I heard from the team.
Hi,
I want to be able to save the file name uploaded for the row in the record for that row.
If the web page has more than one WebFileUploaders, in the WebGrid row or not in the WebGrid Row, the following Client Side Mesasage pops up, "Unable to initialize file uploader!".
To reproduce, use the WebTextEditorSamples, WebFileUploader/BatchUpload.aspx and put a 2nd WebFileUploader on the page (Just copy the first one).
Thank you for the update.
I also had the same issue, “Unable to initialize file uploader!”, at the time I came to meet the dev team.
Using WebFileUploader in each row of WebGrid doesn’t seem to be a good idea, because it can increase the page size and loading time significantly as each WebFileUploader instance will be created for each row. The dev team recommends using “custom editor” approach to implement this specific requirement. The idea is to have only one WebFileUploader instance in the page, which is reused for each row/cell.
The dev team of WebGrid has considered implementing this scenario on the release of Intersoft WebUI Studio 2011 R2. Please let us know what you think about this schedule.
I have had to choose another option for my requirment so 2011 R2 would be OK.
I have forwarded this to WebGrid development team.
I’ll inform you when the nightly-build is ready, so that you can give your comment on the new feature.
