I wonder if that the .NET AJAX Control conflict with WEBUI? for example, when I use AJAX control UpdatePanel and WEBUI control WebGrid in my progject,but When I want to sorting in my Webgrid, it make errors.When I annotations the  UpdatePanel control,it sort successfully. Would yu please help me to solve this problem? thank you very much!

Thank you for your code.

After I investigated your code, I have some recommendation for you.

If you want rebind the WebGrid, you should use RebindDataSource() method instated use DataBind() method.
And before use RebindDataSource() method, you should use ClearCachedDataSource() method.

WebGrid1.ClearCachedDataSource();
WebGrid1.RebindDataSource();

To further information about server-side of WebGrid, you could see in our documentation, in Server-side Events section.
(Intersoft WebGrid > WebGrid Features Overview > Programming with Server-side API > Server-side Events)


For a better performance in your scenario, I recommend you to use FlyPostBack instated use FullPostBack.

I made a simple about WebGrid that integrated with WebTreeView using FlyPostBack.
Bind WebGrid and WebTreeView programmatically to Nortwind.mdb database.
In my sample, the data of WebGrid is depend on what the WebTreeView’s node that we select.

Please have review on my sample and let me know your response.

Thank you for your Advices,I want to partial update . I doubt about that if I just want to the bottom of the child node to trigger the button event in server side,the button event  is to bind a grid. but when I trigger the client side event in behind, it didn't work.(node.NavigateURL = "javascript:selectNode('" + node.Value + "');") ,it doesn't support this style?  but I doubt if there may be one way to solve it.I realy don't know how to realize it now,Thank you very much !

Please resend us a runable sample. The current project is not runable. We even don't have the db to run the sample. Btw, If I am not mistaken, NavigateURL accepts string format that shows URL link address, not javascript function.

My samples was so big that has 40Mbs, I can't send all to you ...so I send a link for you,you can download the samples for you ,because it occurs in this scene and not occured in a single grid(ftp://211.101.1.108/customer/webui_project0813.zip) .The previous problem I have solved now. And  now I send the samples for you for other problems:

when the grid which nested in webtreeview,when the bottom of the grid is clicked,this triggered a server side event to bind the grid.When the grid's caption is set in english,it is success.But when I set the caption in Chinese,it make errors,such as it can't sorting,it can't expand the other node.

I tried to run sample on my end, but unfortunately, I am having difficulty running your sample.
So I decided to make a simple sample based on the issue that you describe in your post.

I bind WebGrid to access data source control (Northwind database & Shippers table)
And then I set the column caption to “从”. However, I can’t replicate your issue on my end.

Would you mind to have a review on my sample and let me know if there are settings that I missed on my sample?
So I can reproduce your issue on my sample.

sorry,there' something wrong, I sent it again for you .

I know in just simple grid scene.it didn't make errors,but in this scene it did.The scene is when expand the treeview node,when the treeview node is the bottom of the node that has no childnode,and its node name is"非球面",the node will trigger a server side button events, the events would bind a datasouce to webgrid.when click the node(非球面),the grid has data now.the problem is that when I set the grid caption in Chinese,it excute successful,but when I click one grid  column to sort, it cuase error and it can't expand the other eclapse node(the document has discribed ) ,but when the grid caption is in English, it didn't cause errors,everything is OK,but our project should show Chinese in the UI, so we don't know how to solve this problem.

In my PC,the project is running OK,now I will send you another sample(ftp://211.101.1.108/customer/project_24733.zip),in this sample,you should do something first:You should see the document first,and enter the project WebContent\Login.aspx.cs to modify database connection string,then add an exist project(a.mdf is which contains in the package I sent to you  )in App_Data file.The last thing you should do is executing the project just in Login.aspx.

I wonder if  this may be the compatibility problem.....

Could you please try to set ControlDataTransferFormat property in WebGrid to “JSon” ?
This should resolve the Chinese character issue.
