Hi,
I have a big issue with the webcombo 2.0.
We have had a system set up on windows server 2003 with IIS 6.0. On that configuration everything worked OK.
Now we have moved the application to windows server 2008 R2. On this system we have IIS 7.5 and with the following sytem webCombmo 2.0 is not working any more. I get the error: Object expected.
I would like to know, if anyone have had such a problem and what is the solution.
I have to mention that we have old application written in MS.NET 1.1. and in VS 2003. We also do not want to update the webcombo 2.0 to newer one as this product is no longer being developed.
It is quite urgent as we have couple of customers that cannot work with the application.
Thank you
BR,Borut
As mentioned in your initial post, the old application is written in MS .NET Framework 1.1. Since ASP.NET 1.1 is not included in IIS 7.5, you need to downloaded and installed manually.
The article in http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/472/how-to-install-aspnet-11-with-iis-on-vista-and-windows-2008/ shows how to install ASP.NET 1.1 with IIS 7 on Vista and Windows 2008. Things might a bit different on the other Windows operating system that has IIS 7.5 but almost similar.
The main part is installation of .NET Framework Version 1.1 Service Pack 1 and then installation of ASP.NET Security Update for .NET Framework 1.1 SP1.
Hope this helps.
I tried everything what you have written, but no success. Do you have any other info regarding this. Does anybody else have had such experience?
BR, B.
Could you please provide me with more information regarding the problem?
Do you have any suggestion?
It is quite urgent now as my customer wants to use new server and shut down the old one.
I have tried to configure the test server and deploy WebCombo2 samples project in there. However, I’m having difficulties to continue the test since I don’t have the runtime license key for WebCombo2 product.
I have sent you a message to your registered email account regarding the runtime license key. Please check your inbox and let me know your response.
Thank you very much, but I have found the reason for not working and also the solution.
The problem was in MIME types. I have added jse mime type to the IIS and it is working.Thank you for your effort.
Glad to hear the good news that adding/registering .jse file extension to the MIME type of IIS solves the problem.
