I tried to replicate the reported problem on my local end by viewing the Chart_FirstExperience.aspx sample file in browser but my efforts were not successful – everything worked smoothly and the chart image was rendered without any issues. The sample is available in WebGridSamples project (start > All Programs > Intersoft WebUI Studio 2011 R2 > WebUI Studio for ASP.NET > WebGrid 7 > C# Samples or VB Samples. You can also browse the live version of this sample at http://live.intersoftpt.com/cs/WebGrid/Chart_FirstExperience.aspx. The sample project uses WebGrid 7 build 530 and WebUI.NET Framework 3 build 800.

I’m willing to advise you further but in order to do so I would need you to elaborate on your specific scenario and possibly give us more information regarding the version of WebGrid control (whether it is WebGrid 6 or WebGrid 7); the build number of WebGrid and WebUI.NET Framework 3; the doctype of the page; and the browser version (if uses IE browser, please add the information about the Browser Mode and the Document mode of the browser) that I can use to observe the problematic behavior.

I have now made a test with Chart_SeriesColorCollection.aspx. It works OK when I test it under your samples.

When I make a new projekt with only this  Chart_SeriesColorCollection.aspx, the chart is missing again.

In the attached file you can see which build I used. The fact is that chart was  OK before I upgraded to this version of webgrid.

I used browser IE9 and tested browser mode: IE7,IE8,IE9 with Document mode: quirk,IE7,IE8,IE9.

I have also tried with Google Chrome 16.0.912.63

The screenshot below shows the Chart_SeriesColorCollection.aspx sample file viewed in IE 9 browser (quirks mode).

It uses WebGrid.NET 7 build 430 and WebUI.NET Framework 3 build 771.

For your information, the latest released-hotfix build number of WebGrid 7 is build 431; and the latest released-hotfix build number of WebUI.NET Framework 3 is build 772. This hotfix can be obtained using the Intersoft Update Manager. However, I’d suggest you to download and install the Intersoft WebUI Studio 2011 R2. By installing the 2011 R2, you will get WebGrid 7 build 530 and WebUI.NET Framework 3 build 800.

Last but not least, after apply the hotfix to the development PC, please don’t forget to apply the hotfix to the project’s bin folder (ISNet.WebUI.Resources.dll; ISNet.WebUI.WebGrid.dll; ISNet.WebUI.WebGrid.ISChartEngine.dll; and ISNet.WebUI.WebGrid.Resources.dll).
