Good day,
IdeaBlade has released DevForce 2012 and I'm wondering if Intersoft WebUI supports this version, specially ClientUI, as I'm more interested in this one.
Edit: As expected, creating projects from Intersoft Templates is not working without code modifications.
There's also a warning:
Reference to type 'IdeaBlade.EntityModel.INotifyCompleted' claims it is defined in 'c:\Users\Dave\Documents\Visual Studio 2012\Projects\Test\packages\IdeaBlade.DevForce.Core.7.0.2\lib\net45\IdeaBlade.EntityModel.dll', but it could not be found c:\Program Files (x86)\Intersoft Solutions\ClientUI 7\WPF\Bin\Intersoft.Client.Data.Provider.DevForce.dll
Any ETA?
Thanks in advance!
Thank you for your interest about the compatibility of Intersoft ClientUI products with DevForce 2012.
Intersoft, as a partner of Ideablade will support the DevForce 2012. It is estimated to be ready around December 2012. Please feel free to ping us at any time regarding this schedule.
Yudi,
The first version of DevForce 2012 (non-beta) was 7.0.2. It is now 7.0.3 and the biggest feature of this specific version is the support of enum. Previous versions like 7.0.0 and 7.0.1 were beta.
A detailed information is on IdeaBlade's webpage.
Also, just an observation (no offense), but I find hard to believe that as a partner of IdeaBlade, you know less about their new product than a simple customer.
Edit:
Also, the bug found on this thread is not fixed:
http://www.intersoftpt.com/Community/ClientUI/UXRibbonButton-not-showing-completely/
Haven't check the work item #662, posted here:
http://www.intersoftpt.com/Community/ClientUI/Setting-IsSelected-property-to-True-hangs-Visual-Studio-2012/
But I believe is also not fixed yet since there's no update about the issue.
I just saw Intersoft WebUI Studio 2012 R2 is now available, but as I'm seeing in the What's New, there's no support for latest and greatest DevForce 2012 v7.0.3.
I will have this forwarded to ClientUI development team. Should I heard any news regarding this I will surely let you know.

Could you please let us know whether DevForce 2012 v7.0.3 is beta version or not. As far as we know, that version is still beta version.
Thank you for the detail information. I will forward this to ClientUI development team to be processed further.
Regarding the progress of each bug, will be replied within the corresponding thread.

The team stated that ClientUI 8 and DevForce 7.0.3 is expected to be available around late February. I will update this thread if I hear any news regarding the schedule.
Hi Yudi,
While DevForce 7.0.3 gets supported in ClientUI 8, is there a way to provide an updated version of the ExecuteAsync method found in Intersoft.Client.Data.Provider.DevForce?
Since I'm not able to test QueryDescriptor in latest version of DevForce.
Regards,
Dave
I’ll have this request forwarded to ClientUI development team. They will check the feasibility to implement the feature in the next build. I will keep this thread updated with any news I heard from the team regarding ClientUI and latest version of DevForce.
Hi Yudi,Any word about DevForce 7.0.3 compatibility? FYI, they already released 7.1.0In a previous post, you told that it is expected in late February, so I'm asking...Regards,Dave
Sorry for the delay in sending this.
We’re still working to implement the latest version of DevForce with ClientUI. It seems that the process takes longer than we expected before (February 2013). We have plan to provide the hotfix in March 2013 schedule.
The ClientUI development team has managed to support DevForce 2012 v7.1.0.0. In order to use DevForce 2012 v7.1.0.0 there are some adjustments that need to be performed such as:
We’ll provide project template which supports DevForce 2012 v7.1.0.0. I’ll keep this thread updated with any news I heard from the team regarding the progress of this implementation.
Thank you for the prompt reply.
Yes, we will provide a new assembly of Intersoft.Client.Data.Provider.DevForce. If possible, I will have a simple sample to be uploaded so that you can evaluate it on your end.
Developers can choose whether to use Backward Compatibility approach or use the Native DevForce 2012 API approach. Please kindly check the blog post which describes about how to implement DevForce 2012 with ClientUI in http://wp.me/p1S6Z-N9.
The sample for both approaches is available in here.
Hope this helps.
Thanks Yudi,Wonderful. I'll have a look at it, at first glance it contains the updated library. Btw, one little suggestion. In the installer (custom installation), there's no way to choose to whether install or not DevForce. It will be nice to be able to select to not install, this is a handy option when there's already a product installed and also when the setup includes a previous version of it and the computer already has a newer version.Just a suggestion. Thanks,Dave
Thank you for the excellent suggestion regarding to have an option whether to install DevForce or not in the Intersoft WebUI Studio setup.
I’m forwarding your comment directly to the development team. We welcome your involvement and will certainly consider implementing your ideas in future release.
Thanks again for your message. The ideas and suggestions of innovative, thinking people are always welcome.
