Description
There seems to be a styling issue with the TimePicker control on Android.
Step to Reproduce
See the attached screenshot. Taken from FormBuilder sample app.
Actual Result
TimePicker appears dark.
Expected Result
TimePicker should appear light.
I tried to reproduce the reported problem in my Galaxy Nexus device with no luck. The TimePicker control doesn't appear as dark (see attached TimePicker on Galaxy Nexus.png).
For your information, I'm using FormBuilder sample app taken from Master branch of Crosslight samples repository.
Please feel free to let me know if there is anything that I might miss during my attempt to reproduce the problem.
Hello Yudi,
I downloaded the samples again from the repo.
Unfortunately, I have the same behaviour as described in the original bug report. I tested again on Android Samsung Galaxy Tablet and Android Samsung Phone (no lolipop).
Please, check again or send me a working sample. It's no fun testing the same bug again.
Thanks,
Thomas
Any news?
Since I was not able to reproduce the reported problem on the following:
Could you please kindly re-test the problem in Android emulator. I'm afraid that settings which related to specific device may produce different result.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
here are the specifications of my test devices:
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (SM-T310) - Android 4.4.2
Samsung Galaxy Trend Lite (GT-S7580) - Android 4.2.2
This problem is quite unique because we never managed to reproduce this at our end. Currently, me and Thomas are working together to find what may cause the problem. I'll keep this thread updated with any news regarding this matter.
did my testing help you to figure out something?
Thank you for sending me the test result. Currently, we are still investigating the issue. Please bear with us while we trying to find what may cause the problem.
Any progress here?
The hotfix for this problem is arranged to be available on Crosslight 3 Update 2 which is expected to be arrived on late January 2015.I will keep you updated when the nightly build is ready to be evaluated.
Thank you and have a nice day.
is this issue fixed with Crosslight 3 Update2 (Crosslight3_0_5000_185)?
Thanks
This issue is still in progress state and has not resolved yet. Should the nightly build is ready to be evaluated, I will let you know.
Edited on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 2:30 AMReason: provide nightly build
I enclosed a nightly build of Crosslight 3. It is used to resolve the styling issue with the TimePicker control in Android.
I have re-tested the reported problem with the nightly build hotfix and it is no longer persist. Please note that this is a nightly build and was not tested for regression.
I used the current FormBuilder sample from the master branch and referenced the assemblies from the hotfix. Nothing changed, the bug isn't solved at all. Going to the TimePicker section shows all the time pickers with a dark background.
Please, fix.
Following screenshot shows how TimePicker section is displayed in Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 P3110 (running on Android 4.1.2).
And this is how TimePicker section looks like after apply Crosslight3_0_5000_186.zip.
Please ensure that the nightly build has been applied correctly; clean the solution; rebuild; and re-deploy the app. Please let me know if you have different result.
I applied the latest nightly build 191 and now it worked.
Test on Android 4.1.2 and 4.2.2.
Glad to hear that the reported problem has now resolved using latest nightly build 191.
