Hello
I am needing advice on how to achieve this...
Via a navigation type control (button, link etc) I want to be able to open a new new page in a new window (I know how to do this, I think, using TargetName="_blank" ) but keep the original user logged in and the new page prompts for new user login.
1)So in the browser we have 1 tab open with User1 logged in.
2) User1 clicks on link
- if he has correct permissions load page
- if he does not have the correct permissions I want to keep tab1 open (preserving User1 logged in) but create a new instance of the application in browser tab2 which will first navigate to the Sign On page and then the page desired.
Thanks
Deeply apologize for the delay in sending this.
The log-in mechanism in Web-application utilizes cookie to identify the user. When user login into a WebSite, it creates a cookie file. Every time user navigates to any pages of the WebSite (for example: open a link in the same tab or open the link in a new tab, the browser sends the cookie file to the WebSite to provide important user related data. In my opinion, that’s the reason why YouTube will automatically identify our login information if earlier (on another tab) we have logged into Gmail using Google account.
