Hi,
I've tried the hierachical grid samples and I've turn on the Export function to have a look if it is possible to export all details in the hierarchical webgrid, including root and child table. I found that it is only possible to export either the Root, or the selected child table.
Is it possible to export all tables shown in the webgrid in one export activity? If not, would like to ask for suggestions on how to achieve this.
Many thanks,
Larry
Unfortunately, it is not possible to export all tables (the root table and its child table) in one export activity. You can choose either export the root table or export the selected child table.
Hope this helps.

Could you please tell us how to "export the selected child table." ?
Thanks!
David
The exporting functionality is controlled in AllowExport property under LayoutSettings. When it is set to Yes, the Export icon will appear in the status bar. When clicked, a menu displaying export and page output options will appear. The export options depend on the last selected object, for instance, if a row is selected in child table then the 'Export selected child table' option will appear as you can see in following snapshot:
Generally, this feature is capable for exporting two type of grid's data, one is the root table and the other is selected child table's data. The export for root table will not export any hierarchical data because of performance issues and based on common requirements. The export for selected child table will export the entire data for the selected child table and not including any hierarchical data.
Hi Yudi,
Thanks for your response. My question in the initial post was if this is possible to do both in one export action. E.g. Is there a menu/item/code that I can call so that all root and child tables are exported in one HTML/PDF/EXCEL...?
