I've just downloaded your trial version today and we are testing out the scheduler as we are looking to replace our current control.
Binding the scheduler to a datatset, from what i've read in the help files and samples and in this forum can't be done correct? It appears that the scheduler requires the ISDataSource.
All of my data comes from web services so i can not bind the ISDataSource directly to a database. Is there maybe a way in a databinding event were i can retrieve the data via a web service and push it into either the scheduler or the ISDataSource. I don't require the ISDataSource or Scheduler to manage any of the edits or deletes just display only.
As shown in the above illustration, WebScheduler integrates natively into ISDataSource control (Intersoft's flagship datasource control) to provide you with multiple tables binding capability.
With ISDataSource, the WebScheduler databinding experience is almost seamless and codeless. You simply need to connect the WebScheduler to an instance of ISDataSource through its DataSourceID control. Once connected, the data members will automatically be available in the dropdown selection, enabling you to bind the data member quickly with simply a mouse click.
The ISDataSource support multi-table view and hierarchical-relational table. It connects to DataSet and CustomObject in design time.ISDataSource does not do direct access to database.
Hope this helps. Please let us hear your response.
Data binding in WebScheduler.NET requires ISDataSource.NET, a proprietary data source control from Intersoft Solutions, therefore all data operation must go through ISDataSource.NET first. It is advisable to use the DataSet designer from Visual Studio.NET to produce quick data source control.
Hope this helps.
no that doesn't really help at all. so what you're saying is that no one can use your calendar control without allowing your ISDataSource direct access to your database?
How marvelous this question is, since I am quite a novice to know scheduler control, the scheduler binding made me feel great headaches. However, this question and the great answer here helped me solve many confusions.
