i've implemented a self referencing hierarchical webgrid with editable child/parent rows.
after editing a parent row, the row itself as well as all child rows auto-expand. the rows still keep the '+' icon causing the user to need to click on it twice to collapse again.
is there a solution that prevents the expanding of the rows?
YUDI has reproduced the issue (different post) and has noted that it does not happen when LoadOnDemand is set to true, however, LoadOnDemand is not a solution for me since the grid performs exceptionally slower. I'm looking for a different solution.
The solution for this scenario is simply have the self-reference row to collapsed again. Collapsing all the children on update definitely seems to be the best of all the options provided.
Please check "self referencing grid causes auto-expand of child rows on update" thread for more detail about the solution.
