SendCustomRequest used to refresh all the grid

Hi,

I am trying to upgrade our grid from version 4 to 7. The existing program uses SendCustomRequest to initiate a full reload of the grid wiht new data.

This execute an On The Fly PostBack event sequence. After the data is retrieve from the server, the normal Not On The FlyPostBack events are executed.

Based on my understanding On The Fly PostBack is useful to update a row of the grid. Should it be used to reload the grid entirely?

If not, what event should I use instead of SendCustomRequest to avoid executing On The Fly PostBack?
