How do you add paging to a child grid?
Currently, paging feature is only available for the root table level. The feature is not available for the child table level.
Should you need to have this feature implemented in the child table, you can submit this valuable feedback as feature request to WebGrid development team. The team will check the feasibility to implement this feature in the upcoming build of WebGrid.
We've requested this feature around January of this year and was told it would be reviewed for feasibility but we never got a response. I was hoping it was in the 2010 R1 release but it sounds like that is not the case. Please submit it to be evaluated. It is critical the the success of our project. There is not a good workaround for this.
I have checked with WebGrid development team.
That feature, to have paging on child table of WebGrid, requires a deep surgery on the Grid, which involves the architecture, user interface, and many other aspects such as compatibility with existing features.
This feature requires more extensive research and development, and requires more time to make it happen successfully.
I’ll keep you updated with any news I heard from the team regarding this feature request.
Yudi,
Thank you very much for getting a status on this item. Its what I needed to know in order to make some strategic decisions about this part of our interface. It's unfortunate that it's such an extensive change. I would appreciate any updates that you might get on this.
Thanks again.
The feature request is submitted under Task #629.
I believe that your colleague, Jocelyn Rendulic, has posted the same request in the following link, http://www.intersoftpt.com/Community/WebGrid/WebGrid-with-child-tables-paging-on-child-table/. I’ll keep in touch with both of you regarding this feature request.
