I am getting following error in WebGrid 7.0 which we are using in sharePoitn web part.
"Freeze Pane cannot be activated on this column because it has exceeded the maximum size of scrollable viewport"
Please find following consideration for this issue.
1. We are using WebGrid 7.0 with Self refrencing and Inline editing enabled.
2. We have freezing pane enabled and redering the grid programaticallyl in SharePoitn WebPart
Please find two attached screen shot where "NoFreezePaneIssu1.jpg" show that for smaller width we do not face above mentioned issue. while for larger width it shows above mentioned issue which is shown in "FreezePaneIssue1.jpg" screenshot.
We have following settings for freeeze pane in layoutsetting event.
interSoftWebUIGrid.LayoutSettings.AllowColumnFreezing = ColumnFreezing.Yes; interSoftWebUIGrid.LayoutSettings.FreezePaneSettings.ActiveFrozenColumns = 4; interSoftWebUIGrid.LayoutSettings.FreezePaneSettings.MaxFrozenColumns = 4;
We face this issue inconsistanty based on screen resolutions.
Please reply urgently.
thanks.
The error message will occur if the frozen column take all the available WebGrid space. However, my test also show that in XHTML doctype page the error message will be shown if the frozen column has already taken ~ 80-90% of the available space.
A bug report has been submitted to the developer. We will inform you if there is any update regarding this issue.
Glenn,
I am not sure about XHTML doctype issue you are talking about, in my case we are using your web grid in MOSS 2007 SHAREPOINT environment inside a WebPart.
And in my case the grid starts giving javascript error even in case when frozen column has just taken ~ 55-60 % of total grid space. I am sure this does happen in my case. You can try this out at your end by create a sample application where you render web grid inside MOSS 2007 SharePoint Web Part.
Can you please let me know when can we expect a resolution for this ?
Thanks.
Currently our developer is focusing on WebUI Studio 2010 release. At the earliest a fix will be available by the end of May 2010.
Do you have any news on this topic (May 2010 is history)
Currently the bug status is still active. Since the WebUI Studio 2010 R1 released is being delayed our developer will try to fix the active issues in a hotfix in the next few months.
I just recieved an update on the bug report, a fix will be available in the next hotfix release.
Is a fix available for this problem now?
Hi Pierre,
I can't replicate this problem using WebGrid 8. This problem might be had been solved by our developer team. You can try to use your code in our WebGrid 8. Hope this helps.
