An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below.
[ArgumentException: Invalid postback or callback argument. Event validation is enabled using <pages enableEventValidation="true"/> in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" %> in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation.] System.Web.UI.ClientScriptManager.ValidateEvent(String uniqueId, String argument) +173 System.Web.UI.Control.ValidateEvent(String uniqueID, String eventArgument) +69 System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlInputHidden.LoadPostData(String postDataKey, NameValueCollection postCollection) +94 System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlInputHidden.System.Web.UI.IPostBackDataHandler.LoadPostData(String postDataKey, NameValueCollection postCollection) +13 System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessPostData(NameValueCollection postData, Boolean fBeforeLoad) +343 System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) +1743
This error message is quite odd and we have not received such reports so far. I tried to reproduce the problem in my local test by creating a page that has two instances of WebGrid. Each of the WebGrid is placed into a single pane of WebPaneManager. The event validation also enabled during the test. I found out that everything worked smoothly and switching to PivotChartView doesn’t raise any error.
We are willing to advice you further but in order to do so we would need you to elaborate on your specific scenario by give us a running simple project that reproduce the problem and a step-by-step guide that we can use to observe the problematic behavior.
