Hello,
I'm using a webcombo and a webcontentMenu. In IE 8 the menu doesn't expand any greater than the original root menu.
I have tired both modes in IE 8
Attached are screen shots.
Hi Andre,
Could you try to set MenuWindowType="Normal" in MenuStyleSettings properties? I made several test but still works fine. FYI, we have 2 type of window type, "Normal" or "popUp". PopUp is set as default which the browser will decide the position itself. PopUp only can be used in IE. In firefox and the others, it will behave as 'Normal'. So, i think if It works in Mozila, maybe you can use this workaround. Sometimes, 'PopUp' caused some issues regarding IE browser itself. Please let me know if this also works on you or not.
Regards,Handy
I have checked our live sample but it expands well. Could you guide me for replicating this issue?
Hi, attached is the source code.
Thanks,
Andre
Hi,
Please see my recording video. The layout seems ok. Please also ensure you have applied all the latest hotfix in your project.
HI, I do have all the updates installed.
I noticed you are using microsofts emulator and I am using real production with IIS 7. Can you try it using IIS? I do not have IE 8 installed on my development box only on the Servers that host IIS 7.
Other than that, why would mine render different?
Actually, i don;t use Microsoft emulator. I only created recording with Camtasia. It runs well in my development and it also has been set in IIS. Maybe I would try to deploy on our tester machine. But could also let me know your environment details? Also, you are using WebDesktop 3, correct?
I am using windows server 2008 with IIS 7 and Pipeline mode is Integrated. My web servers have IE 8 and that is where I see the problem.
My development is win xp and IE 7, I host my application in IIS 6. I am using all the updated Intersoft tools as of the last update 10/26/09
thank you
HI, any luck on this issue? i'm still having this issue only with IE 8.
Please try to change in into Classic App Pool mode. Does the issue only happen on that machine?
Hi, happens in classic mode too. I did send you the source code? attached is the source code, it's pretty basic
We are moving all users to IE 8 so I do need a fix for this.
I already tried it in the environment you told me to. In fact, i was unable to replicate your issue 100%. Your menu could not be expanded well but It was expanded well in here. The same issue is, the menu items are duplicated each time i did postback between that two buttons. I think the expanded menu issue is caused by this issue. Maybe the result is differents between us. We could not hover on the bottom item or sometimes, when the user could not expand the menu like yours. I will report this to our developer teams. But once again, i still need you to let me know if you are using WebDesktop 3 or WebDesktop 2.5.
I am trying to reapply with unrelease hotfix build in here but I got fail to run your project because your assemblies project seems to be locked to precompile.
HI,Thanks Handy,
It is true the code example I gave you did duplicate the rows, but in my real application they are not duplicated. I seem to only have this issue with IE 8.
I have 3 web servers running IE 8 and all 3 have the same issue. I do not have IE 8 on my development computer, but I guess I have to install it to see if it's IIS 7 causing the issue or IE8.
I hope we are able to find the answer or I will be forced to remove web menu from my application :(
thanks
I tested on XP,Windows server 2008 (IIS 7) and Windows 7 (IIS7). All of them show that i can expand the menu well. There is something i would like to test. I would like to see the result if I applied the latest build in here (unrelease hotfix). The problem is, your project seems could be recompiled. Is it locked by your assemblies or something?
Hi, attached is the application. I tested it again on a real web server using the publish function and adding the keys in the web config, and I still get the same error.
You Rock! I belive that is the answer. Thank you so very much
