Same problem here, can't manage to license my Prism app. I also have a changing assembly versions with each build.
I am willing to advise you further but in order to do so I would need you to elaborate on your specific scenario and possibly give us a complete step-by-step guide that we can use to observe the problematic behavior. Especially about the changing assembly info and the step-by-step to have the version change on the fly depending on the datetime.
Overview of Site
My project is a prism unity app that is made up of a shell and 3+ modules plus a RIA data server application and about 2 Common Class libraries.
Build Process
I have change the code in the assembly so that before each release, I change the version of the assembly to the next build number and then do a full rebuild of the project. Then I go thought the runtime licence program. I then update the licence.islicx with the new info and then I build the project once more. I then copy all my new build xap onto the production test server. Then if I go to the test url the unlicensed version message.
Is there any other way of licence the app?
Hello,
Your issue is currently being investigated. Please bear with us. It would very helpful if you help us by providing some recording videos to ensure that there is nothing we miss.Regarding your steps, please try to delete licenses.islicx instead of update. After change the build number, rebuild and readd licenses.islicx.
Regards,Handy
I have found a way of getting the product to license , here is how i am doing it
First change the version number in the assembly.
Then build your applications
Then delete your licences.islicx file and rebuild again
Then run the runtime licenser and create the new license file and add it to the project
Then rebuild a final time , now it show all work
I think that the licence is check the assembly info and if it changes then it cache the old file which is why it was not working
Glad to hear that you have managed to find a way ofgetting the product to license.
Every time there are changes on the main assembly of the application, it is suggested to repeat the licensing process again.
