One of the most significant productivity features in the latest version of WebCombo is the component designer. Together with the rest of WebUI Studio lineups, the ASP.NET controls now come with an intuitive and user-friendly designer.
The new Component Designer sports a new look and feel, and new designer concept that enables developers to quickly discover and leverage most of the features available in WebCombo. |
The new Component Designer for WebCombo provides three major groups: Quick Start, Advanced Settings and Layout Manager. See the following image:
The new designer concept employs guided configuration experience in assisted mode. For instance, most property elements now have Tooltip that describes the function. The features of the component are also converted to use question-based model and included more verbose text. |
In overall, this new concept of designer is designated to reduce the learning curve needed to getting started with WebCombo. This also improves developer's productivity by avoiding the needs to open documentation in order to just configure a simple scenario.
The classic designer that shows all properties in a property grid is still supported in this new designer. In version 4, the property grid is now contained in Advanced Settings area. If you are advanced users and preferred to browse all properties, you can always click Advanced Settings link in the left navigation. The following illustration shows the advanced settings interface.
You can also configure more advanced configurations related to Cache and Performance Tuning. The new designer makes it easy for both new and advanced developers to configure most aspects and features in WebCombo control. |
The Layout Manager is also revamped to use the streamlined and intuitive user interface. The user interface is also simplified and reorganized to bring convenience while using the Layout Manager, as well as avoiding confusion in the style concept introduced in previous version of Layout Manager. See the following image for Layout Manager.
