Having trouble with 2011 R2 evaluation copy when applying a pre-defined layout to a WebDesktop.
I get a "object reference not set to an insance of an object" dialog box.
The pre-defined layout is NOT applied.
I am running Windows 2008 R2 64 Bit using Visual Studio 2010.
Please help!.

I’m willing to advise you further but in order to do so I would need you to elaborate on your specific scenario and possibly give me a running simple sample which reproduces the problem and a step-by-step guide that I can use to observe the problematic behavior.
Thank You
i start up visual studio with an intersoft web project.
in the Default.aspx i drag a WebDesktop
I open the wizard for the WebDesktop
select the Layouts tab
within pre-defined layouts - i select any of them
i hit preview and the dialog box with the error message is shown"object reference not set to an instance error"
after acknowledging the dialog box there is a message
404 Not Found
within the preview pane
let me know if you need anything else
I was able to reproduce the reported problem, "object reference not set to an instance error" – unable to replicate the “404 Not Found” one, on my local end. I will have this forwarded to WebDesktop development team to be investigated further.
Any news regarding this problem will be updated in this thread.
Thank you and have a nice day.
For Weldon Boyd:
I was able to reproduce the “Object reference not set to an instance of an object” problem but unable to reproduce the (0x80005000) problem. Could you please provide detail information how to reproduce the problem?
