We have a website running WebGrids 3.5. we are receiving reports from our users that they are getting a webgrids error. The error description is “sorry, WebGrid.NET does not currently support the browser you used”. We have had 3 reports in the last week (Week of Sept 6th). These are users that were visiting our website without any issues prior to last week.
Our Tech Support Team has collected the following data from 1 user:
· Operating System: Windows XP Pro with SP3
· Browser Version: Internet Explorer 7
· Addons: Yahoo Toolbar
Troubleshooting steps:
· Tried IE7 with “no addons” mode
· Tried resetting IE7
Our technical support team escalated the issue to Development. Development has researched and could not reproduce the error. Development has compiled the following list of known compatible configurations…
Known working configurations:
OS Browser Add-Ons Windows Server 2003 IE8 Google Toolbar, Yahoo Toolbar Windows XP IE8 Windows Vista IE7 Windows Vista IE8 Windows Live, Google Toolbar, Yahoo Toolbar Windows 7 IE8 Yahoo Toolbar

Hi,
I saw your link site but i could not see the issue because don't have any test user name and password.
In fact, It has been so long since we used WebGrid 3.5. We also has discontinued the product and fix.
I have talked to our developer and they said that older code WG 3.5 only supports IE.So when using other browsers, that message will appear. However, if you got that error using IE, then there could be 2 possiblities:
So this issue randomly happened in your WebSite. Could you let us know your link website? We need to see what is the possible that caused this issue.
Regards,Handy
Handy,
Thank you for responding.
The above question and concern from John S is a colleague of mine. I support this piece of software and work with it on a daily basis very intimately. Unfortunately due to the sensitive material and proprietary nature of this software I cannot allow you access. The above description that John S provided is very thorough and accurate and I've taken the liberty of attaching screen shots of the error message for further help.
We feel this issue is being caused randomly as users install various add-ons and Windows performs scheduled updates to their software. We realize that we are using an older version of your software and are in the process of building a new software version, fully anticipating upgrading to your new enterprise addition. During this development period however we still need to continue the support of our current client base. So my question to you is can anything be done (short of upgrading to the new webgrid version on our old platform that will be going away) easily to correct this issue during the interim? Is there a patch that can be installed to correct these issues? What are your suggestions?
Please contact me at your earliest convenience to discuss this issue in further detail.
Thank you,

Hi all,
I know from above the 3.5 is no longer supported but we have 3 customers (in more than 500) that get the sorry, WebGrid.NET does not currently support the browser you used error when visiting our site?
I have managed to get one of them to provide the User-Agent-String:
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.30; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.648; IEMB3; OfficeLiveConnector.1.3; OfficeLivePatch.0.0; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; InfoPath.2; yie8)
But I do not see anything in there that could cause a problem?
Please can you advise a place to start to solve this issue?
Kind Regards
Dan
Hello,
After discussed with our developer teams, they think that it is not possible. The old product is really outdated. Some of them does not support modern architecture yet.
