Value and Text have same data

I'm using the following WebInput:

<ISWebInput:WebInput ID="phone" runat="server" BorderWidth="1px" BorderColor="Black"> <EditFormat IsEnabled="True" Type="Other"> <MaskInfo MaskExpression="(999) 000-0000" SkipOptional="False" /> </EditFormat> <HighLight IsEnabled="True"></HighLight> </ISWebInput:WebInput>

 

The Value and Text are both masked causing an issue when saving the data.  The documentation says that the Value should be unmasked.  Am I missing something?
