Hi Michael,
If you install SP1, the issue should be not happened. In fact, both of us are unable to see the issue. Please try to clear asp.net cache (C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files) and browser cache. Please let me know if you still encounter the same issue.
Regards,Handy
Please see my attachment. It will show my video recording. In fact, I am unable to replicate your issue. After add a new row for the first time, I can expand the added row. Please ensure that you are using the latest hotfix or SP1.
Hi Handy
I have installed SP1, but it doesn't work in my development environment.
Operating System Windows 2008 Server
Dev Environment: Microsoft Visual Studio.NET 2008
.NET Version: .NET Framework 3.5
Weird, It should be working. I wonder if I was missing on my recording so it could not replicate your issue.
The reported issue is caused because of a sample issue. Using the default sample from 2009 R1 SP1 should fixed this issue.
Attached is the sample extracted from 2009 R1 SP1
I see. No wonder that I could not replicate the issue. Thank you for your information. I am sure that Glenn attachment will show you the fix.
Hi Glenn
I use default sample from SP1 and I have also tested with your attached sample, but it does not work unfortunately.

WebGrid now supports various foreign column name in child and parent table when Hierarchical feature is enabled.
What could be the problem?
