I'd like to have a hyperlink in a webgrid cell if the database column has a value; otherwise I'd like the cell to have no value. Can this be done and if so, how?

In hyperlink type (cell), WebGrid will turn any text/value in a cell into a hyperlink text. If the currect cell doesn't have any text or " ", the cell will always shows " " or empty. That is the default behaviour. So, you don't need any code to handle it.
