One of our grid features is to highlight certain cells based on the value in the cell. I can't seem to find this type of "conditional formatting" feature. I know I can accomplish this by custom coding, but am wondering if WebGrid has this?
I called a colleague of mine who happens to have run into this feature in the documentation, which I could not find. So it does exist here.
Hello,
Yes, the feature can be found in WebGrid Designer as you pointed out in the documentation link. Alternatively, you can also access it in code behind through object model, eg, grid.RootTable.FormatConditions.Add(formatCondition)
Hth,James.
Note that both in WebUI Studio 8 and 9, the documentation for Special Features under WebGrid is blank. I think this is a prominent feature that should be highlighted under WebGrid. I searched for a long time and couldn't find anything under the WebGrid regarding this. It would also be helpful to add an index entry for conditional formatting. Thank you.
Hi,
Regarding the documentation issue, the special features section does exist on my end. All special features are included in WebGrid documentation and you can look at the attached screenshot for your reference.
Thank you.
I was referring to the Index. Sorry I didn't clarify. If you go to the Index and type in "webgrid class" and select it. Once the topic comes up, page down past the Object Model to Remarks. Click Special Features, which should be #15, and you get nothing. I attached what I get with WebUI 9 help.
Ok.. I just successfully replicated your issue. I think the "Special Features" topic on #15 in that case has an incorrect linking topic. We will report this issue to the documentation team to be fixed as soon as possible.
Regarding indexing entry on conditional formatting and special features topics, we will work on it further and I believe we can provide the indexing entry as you requested.
