With the update to Firefox 20.x, with the latest version of webCombo, the drop down arrow is the number 6 and the combo no longer works. This work correctly on all other browsers including Firefox 19 and below. Just fails with Firefox 20.0 and above.
MORE INFO: I tried to see if the issue appears in the 2012 R2 samples for webCombo (VB version) and it doesn't. I looked at the version in the BIN directory for webCombo and it was using version .250 and the latest version is .253. I updated the samples version to .253 and the error appears. So something in the update from webCombo .250 to .253 and Firefox 20.0 broke webCombo.
thanks
appears that other problems are appearing with the webGrid also in Firefox 20.x ONLY.
Hi,
Thank you for your patience. We have unofficial hotfix to resolve this issue. However, we only fix any issue that we found by using Firefox 20.0 with our control. Please let me know if you found another issue when using Firefox 20.0. I upload the hotfix here. Hope this helps.
Regards,Bernard
Hi John,
I tried to replicate your issue in our local end using Firefox 20.0.1. Unfortunately, we couldn't replicate your issue in our local end. Please ensure if your framework also have been updated to latest version. Are there any steps or simple sample that can replicate your problem in Firefox? Look forward to hear any feedback so I can help you further.
Bernard,
I am using the following versions and I believe are the latest:
webUI Net framework: 3.0.5000.903
webCombo: 6.0.7200.253
Firefox: 20.0.1
As long as you are using the above version, open up the webUI VB webCombo sample for 2012 R2 and run the FirstExperience sample and the issue appears.
Again this problem ONLY appears with FIrefox 20.x. Please make sure that your are using the exact webUI versions listed above. Note, if you use webCombo 6.0.7200.250, the issue doesn't appear.
I tried to replicate your issue using the steps that you mentioned before. But the matter doesn't happen on our local end. Is there any simple sample which can be run in our local end to show the issue? Actually, we only found that Firefox 20 have obsolete getBoxObjectFor function and we still working for it. Look forward to hear any feedback from you so I can help you further.
Bernard, the sample to use the webUI samples using the version listed about. Here is my screenshot of the issue. This occurs on every computer that access this development site with Firefox 20.x. Any other browser or other versions of Firefox works fine.
I found out what the problem is with this issue. I am using the jQuery UI 1.10.2 and when I link in the stylesheet and use the rel="stylesheet" tag, with Firefox 20.x only webCombo doesn't work. if I remove the rel="stylesheet" it works.
I've attached a sample that demonstrates the problem with Firefox 20.x. The >link is in the Main.Master page.
Interesting if I replace webCombo .253 with .250, the issue is not there.
Even though this fixes the problem with webCombo, by removing the rel="stylesheet", casues other problems with other controls so I had to add it back in. Did you guys find anything out with this? Short of telling users not to use Firefox 20.x anything else can be done?
Sorry for my late responses. We're still looking for causes that make this issue happen. I'll let you know if I found any fixes regarding this problem on Firefox 20.0 . Thank you for your patience.
Sorry for our late responses. I've made this as Work Item #1421. We still analyzing why this issue happen in our WebCombo. Although in many forum, there are many problem happen when attaching the jquery js in the web page. I'll let you know any news regarding this work item #1421. Hope this helps.
John,
You are probobly having the same problem we are as posted in: http://www.intersoftpt.com/Community/WebCombo/Error-in-IEMozbridgejs/
Download firebug for Firefox and look in the Javascript console. This problem happens when you use JQuery and WebUI controls that use the IEMozbridgejs.js.
Any idea on this. Many of our users are using Firefox 20+ and is cauisng problems with them. This is a high priority for us.
Please let me know how this stands.
The original issue:
Currently, we still investigate any issue that happen in Firefox 20.0. However, Firefox 20.0 itself has obsolete many functions that might trigger some problem in jQuery and our control. Until now, there are many problems in jQuery that caused by changing from Firefox 20.0. I had made this as high priority problem. I will let you know if this problem has been resolved in our hotfix. Hope this helps.
Thanks Bernard, I've been off for a few days. I will check this out today. Again thank for the fix.
Hi Bernard,
It appears that this issue has been fixed with this hotfix. Any idea when this will become an official HotFix?
You need to get the hotfix for this issue. Unfortunaly this is an unofficial hotfix. This fix is in this thread from Bernard.
Hi Daniel,
As John said, you can try t apply our hotfix to resolve the issue in Firefox. Probably this issue happen because Firefox has obsolete some of their API in their new version. And if you still found the problem after applying our hotfix, please inform it to us. We will help you to fix this problem. Hope this helps.
I have attached a sample project that recreates the problem that we are seeing. The non-modal form works fine and the modal form works fine in IE and Chrome. The only time there is a problem is when running the Modal form in Firefox.
Please let us know when you have verified that the problem exists and please keep us up to date on the resolution. We are waiting on this pretty anxiously.
Thanks
