Hello,
We have several customers that store objects in the system with ampersands(&) in the object name. Up until now we have never had a problem but recently a customer reported they were unable to create records when attempting to use one of these objects with an ampersand in the name as one of the parameters. We looked into it and found the object name contained the string <d. The WebCombo sees <d and converts it to <d. When the user attempted to submit the form and error message was display saying "A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client (WebCombo1_text=...". I've put together a sample to replicate this issue. If you open the sample in a browser, select the last item, and click the button you will see the error.
Is there any setting that will prevent the WebCombo from converting these values?
Thanks,Scott French
It seems this behavior is caused by an IE bug. In order to display <d in IE you will need to insert the <d as &ltd in the database so IE would not render it as <
