Thanks Handy,

I upgraded to the latest release of WebGrid, and the javascript errors have gone away. Sorry for the confusion, and thanks for your help!

My apologies. Please see the attached example.

Thanks.

Handy,

I've attached a very simple example that does not work in IE9. Please run the example below using IE9, and you should get the error I described above ("Unable to get value of the property 'Tables': object is null or undefined").

The behaviour after the javascript errors are exactly as Dasha describes - loss of all client side functionality.

NOTE: I have run the same code in IE8, and it functions without issue.

Thanks.

Handy,

I just ran the scenario you suggested, and I am still getting the following javascript error from WebGrid: "Unable to get value of the property 'Tables': object is null or undefined".

The web page is marked as:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

I'm using the latest version if WebGrid, and viewing the page in IE9, and still getting javascript errors. I also tried using XHTML 1.0 Strict, and received the same javascript errors.

Thanks.

Hi Lili,

Thanks for your response.  I think my issue should be considered a bug though.

Your demonstration page here states that the VistaCalendar is "fully integrated with WebCalendar API."  The WebCalendar API supports CSS classes, so either that statement is incorrect or the missing CSS support is a bug.

Part of our decision to purchase your latest version was based on the idea that we could get our calendars to look the same both inside and outside the grid, and this issue is preventing that from happening.  So now we're in a difficult position - we already purchased the product based on the advertised features, and we can't do what it advertises.

Lili,

I am also experiencing the problems described by Dasha above. I am running a WebGrid in IE 9 with standards enforced, and have no client-side functionality (ie: right-click). I am currently trying to certify our product as IE 9 compatible, and cannot do so until WebGrid works properly.

This bug is currently our highest priority. When can we expect this issue to be resolved?

Thanks for the update Lili.  We would really like to be able to specify the style of the calendar in our own CSS file, like we can with the WebCalendar control.  Will there be a feature for that in the future?

Riendy,

Has there been any update on this issue from your development team? I am eagerly awaiting a solution.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have taken your sample and modified it to show the issue that I'm having. In my application, I always add the columns to the WebGrid in the InitializeLayout method, rather than putting them in markup. So, I moved the columns out of the markup in your example. I have also added a second grid to show the issue more clearly.

Both of the grids have the same base columns, and both have e.Layout.AutoFitColumns=true. The two grids are equivalent in every way, except the type of the invisible column.

On the top grid, there is an invisible text column ("ShipRegion"). You'll notice that the AutoFitColumns successfully expands all of the visible columns to fill the width of the grid.

The bottom grid has an invisible checkbox column ("Checks"). Unlike the first grid, AutoFitColumns does NOT expand all of the visible columns to fill the width of the grid. Instead, there is a gap on the right side that is equal to the size of the invisible column.

Thanks.
