Unfortunately, we don't have save and layout settings yet. Would you mind to share with us what kind of settings that you would like to save?
The Visibility property binding is also not supported for now. It will be supported in the next version.Please let us know if you have another feedback regarding this topic.

As I mentioned in previous thread, http://www.intersoftpt.com/Community/WebGrid/JSON-for-Server-Databinding-grid/, I need to clarify your WebGrid7 build version. If you are using build .419, no wonder you got the error. This is known issue in .419.To make it work, you can downgrade to .418. Here is the attached hotfixes.

Here is the compelte error message upon navigating to the application on a server outside of the vs2010 environment:
Does this mean that the VS2010 is not installed in your production server?As far I know, the application needs Framework 4.0 and Silverlight to run the application.You can run without install VS2010, but personally, I think you need to configure/install Framework 4.0 and silverlight in your production server.

Each controls are designed for different purposes based on the scenario that you want to achieve.

You can get the JSON data by enabling Client binding. Currently, if you only use ServerDataSourceID, it will not generate JSON. However, you can trick it by enabling Client Binding property.To see the JSON data, you can try to inspect in OnResponse clientside event.
There should be some information about JSON data such as, WebGrid1.XmlHttp.responseText;
The issue would be fixed in the next release. We could not release any official/nightly build now because we focus on R1 release.
