Hi,

Thanks,

Whats the format code of the code for ?
// Put your error handling script in here
David
Hello,

We are having exactly the same problem with this sporadic bug.

The InitializeDataSource cannot be used though as for some reason it only binds the root parent rows and not the child rows too..

Could someone please tell me why this is ?

David

Hi,

Yes, got the docs.. thanks.

>> So basically, you mean, in non batch update (AllowBatchUpdate=false), insert and update work correctly without return error?

Yes, thats correct, i have inserted dummy inserts and update commands in the sqlcommand and this has rectified it for now. We still cant get the grid to work exactly how we want it in batchupdate mode, as the isRowchecker column is being shown for all rows when the code is initially hiding them on render...., so
for every update and insert that is handled by the server, we are refreshing the page completely, not ideal, but at least its a half house...

David.

Thanks for the feedback.. further questions below

>> I think the problem is not because it could not find your insert/update method. But it seems your method itself should the problem.
>> For simple case, try not to use batch update first. Just use regular simple insert, update and delete. See if your insert/update method are working in non batch-update scenario.

The grid works ok when its not in batch mode, as mentioned the batch update method fires correctly, but when it exits and goes back to the framework something else is (or isnt) happening that is bubbling up the error to the user. The delete works fine in batch mode, i will investigae calling dummy inserts/updates in the SQLDataSource..

>> Unless, you want to customize the style by yourself. In this case, you need to get the element of the status bar, and change the size (width and height) of the icon.

Ok, we will have to style it ourselves..

>>You can find it in our documentation "How-to: Add/Remove a menu in WebGrid's context menu ".

We dont download documentation, wheres the link to this page on your websites online help.. ?

Hi,

That was a typo, on my part, the bug still exists, can you possibly post your solution ? or direct me to a online example ?

David

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback

using
http://live.intersoftpt.com/cs/WebGrid/AllowAdding.aspx?noframe=1&path=/WebGrid/Data%20Editing

In Firefox 7.0.1, no far left pencil icon appears, but hopefully i can around this by adding a custom button,,

IE 7, the icon appears, but it cannot be clicked, i dont like using the context menus to add rows, hopefully will get around this using a custom button.

David

Thanks,

I have been through the examples, but i cannot get the button to show when the row is in edit mode, is there any online examples to show this behviour ?
