We are using the UXDock, with two DockButtons,

and inside the Buttons, UXStackItems, using Menu style.

We are targeting the NVDA screen reader product since it seems the best at handling silverlight.

We need to be able to arrow through the stack menu items and have have the screen reader able to read them.  I have set the automationproperty.name to hard coded values, ( ultimately this will need to be dynamically bound to the same value as the display text)

although the automation property exists on the UXStackItem, it is not being read by NVDA.

The reader is also neither able to read the Text property on the UXStackItem.

I am wondering if the solution involves deriving from UXStackItem and then exposing a different automation peer.

NVDA is already able to read UIAutomation properties, which are supposedly already available on teh object but for some reason they are blocked?

Thank you for your follow up.

Hi Abhey,

we are using an intersoft control and want to support assistive technology such as screen readers

even setting automationproperties.name doesnt seem to make anything visible to the reader we are

using NVDA can you tell me about your solution?
