All new Client UI control will support both Silverlight and WPF, however some ported control from our WebUI Silverlight line will not be compatible with WPF such as DataSource control and Presenter. The WPF support for this control is planned for the R2 release.
THe WPF template for Client UI is till being worked on and most likely will not be ready on time for the Client UI release. If it does not make it for the current release, more WPF template will be added on the future Client UI release. However, the item template for the WPF will be ready on the Client UI release.
I would also like to note that even without the template, the WPF and the Silverlight capability is similar, all the WPF control will work under the same scenario in the Silverlight template.
Do you mind elaborating the scenario you are trying to achieve? The default WebGrid filter functionality is used to filter a row, I do not see how it could be used to hide a column.
The CommonLibrary folder should be located under WebUI Studio for ASP.NET in your Intersoft installtion folder. The default location would be C:\Program Files\Intersoft Solutions\WebUI Studio for ASP.NET\CommonLibrary
Our WebGrid does not have the ability to delete column, if you mean you wish to hide a certain column in WebGrid programatically, I have provided a sample and some explanation in this thread
In order to hide or show WebGrid column programatically, you will need to use server side event handler. I have attached a simple sample of such scenario. In the sample clicking a button will load a predefined set of column in the WebGrid. You could modify it to fit your filter scenario.
The sample is using northwind.mdb data which already available in WebGrid sample.
For some control that does not recieve a major upgrade yes. In your case, since the WebGrid and WebDesktop does not recieve a major version update it is possible to retrieve the new build using the update manager.
As I explained before, the new build for WebGrid and WebDesktop will be release with the 2010 R1. However since the WebGrid and WebDesktop does not recieve a major version upgrade, the compatibility issue should be minimal. This will be similar to hotfix since no major version update occurs for those controls.
I believe we have provided Silverlight MVVM template in C# on Intersoft ClientUI MVVM Application and Intersoft ClientUI MVVM Business Application. The Intersoft ClientUI MVVM Business Application template is similar with the VS 2010 Intersoft ClientUI MVVM Business Application template.
The build will be released with 2010 R1, however it is still WebGrid 7 and WebDesktop 3.5. In WebUI 2010 R1 WebGrid and WebDesktop does not have major version update. By the time of 2010 R1 release you could also be able to use the Update Manager to retrieve the latest build.
As of this writing, the 2010 R1 released is still scheduled for August 18, 2010
