I have the atached form and after I select the model and region, GetTest which is my select method is called twice. Then if I change the region webcombo it is called twice again. Can you tell me why this is happening.
Thanks.
Hi Jonathan,
Thanks for pointing out this issue.
We've included an enhancement in the upcoming hotfix for WebGrid. By setting the new property named CustomSchemaRetrieval to UseWebGrid , WebGrid will attempt to resolve the schema type using its own built-in mechanism and thus no longer call the selecting twice.
The default value of the new property is Auto which is the way it's currently implemented, requires another retrieval for schema resolution in ISDataSource level.
Hope this helps.
I've checked the attached sample, but since the sample need your Business Object then I start to create a new simple sample for you that should be similar with your scenario. So far I check everything is okay, you can put breakpoint on ISDS_Selecting and or ISDS_Selected event in order to check whether ISDS called those events twice or not.
Hope this helps. I really appreciate if you able to modify my sample to reproduce the issue.
PS: I used northwind.mdb as database for the sample.
Best Regards,
Dicky
Here is a new sample. This is how we use the grid and datasource with our objects. When you click the button on this form, notice GetCustomers is called twice. Please tell me why and how to stop this. Let me know if you have any problems with this. Thanks.
Thanks for you sample, I can reproduce the issue now. I've forward this issue to our dev team regarding this issue, I will inform back to you as soon as I get news from our dev team. Thanks for your report.
Do you know when this hotfix will be released?
It should be released on next released hotfix. Please stay tuned on our website.
Is this fixed in this 2009 SP1 update?
