I've been trying to get the Social Login for Facebook working on Android and Windows phone and unable to do so.
Android:
When I click Login with Social, the webview comes up and I login, as soon as I click OK, it exits the program to the Android Home.
Windows:
Nothing shows up after clicking Social Login, no webview, no new screens, just sits there with the "Loading ....". I'm using .79 of crosslight.
iOS: Works fine...
ALso to add, I am using the sample built right from the New Project Example. I have added my facebook id into the project from the developer place.
The reported problem has been forwarded to Crosslight development team and filed under CROS-583. I will keep this thread updated with any news regarding CROS-583.
I realized I didn't have Facebook installed on my Android. After installing it, the app just sits there and says Loading... So I think they need to check on two things, if the user does not have Facebook installed, on the call back the device won't understand fb9329392://auth; if the facebook app is installed, it should process the login but it is not.
On Windows Phone I have no idea why it does nothing.
Do I need to add android and iOS specific platforms to the Facebook developer account?
Hi Ryan,
We've just released the new Crosslight 2.0 Update 5 which fixes your web view issue on Android. You can obtain the latest assemblies here: http://git.intersoftpt.com/projects/CROS/repos/updates/browse. The full changelog can be found here: http://developer.intersoftpt.com/display/crosslight/Crosslight+2.0+Update+5+Release+Notes.
To answer your question, we've currently verified the functionality of both iOS and Android social login feature. Currently Android supports only the web-view based authenticated login, however, we're currently researching on how to find ways to support native social login on Android. The social login issue on Windows Phone, however, is still under investigation under the same backlog: CROS-583. Will keep you posted.
Why do I get Login Failed Exception: {Code:USER_NOT_VERIFIED, error:User not verified.}? But thank god it now sends works and sends me back the correct facebook information!
I tested the Facebook social login on Android platform using a project created by Business project template. The project uses the Crosslight 2 Update 5.
However, I was unable to reproduce the reported problem: Login Failed Exception: {Code:USER_NOT_VERIFIED, error:User not verified.}. Could you please provide me with more information like step-by-step guide that we can use reproduce the reported problem in our local end?
Facebook Login is still not working on Windows Phone even on the samples. Nothing happens or comes up.
How do I get the Facebook Token?
And how do I go about saving the session? So when they exit the app, open the app and click Facebook Login, it can login them back in? I looked into using the AccountService and AccountStore but unable to figure it out.
The social login issue on Windows Phone platform is still under investigation by the Crosslight development team. I will keep this thread update with any news I heard from the team regarding this.
On the project created by business project template, the social login work as follow:
Hope this help.
Anyone else interest in getting the access token for Facebook:
var Token = AccountService.GetAccount().GetProperty("access_token");
I'd like to confirm whether the Crosslight social login on iOS and Android platform works without any issues on your project? Should you have any issues on those platform, please feel free to let us know so that we can assist you further.
iOS and Android work fine. Its just Windows Phone that doesn't do anything.
The team is currently working on the Windows Phone problem. I'll keep this thread updated with any news I heard from the team regarding CROS-598.
Hello Max,
It seems that your Facebook developer account is still in "development" mode. Could you please check your developer settings in Facebook Developer Portal to ensure? Only if the account is in production mode, then it will allow other people to login using their own Facebook account.
Hope this helps.
Hello Ryan,
FYI, CROS-598 has been resolved since the November update. If you're on the latest Crosslight (v3), then you should no longer experience the login issue in Windows Phone. Could you please clarify?
Thanks!
Glad to hear that the problem reported under CROS-598 is no longer persist when using the latest Crosslight (v3).
Should you need further assistance or run into any problems regarding our controls, feel free to post it into our forum. We would be happy to assist you again.
