I’d like to suggest you to check the UXDataComboBox control. UXDataComboBox is a queryable combo box control that utilizes the power of QueryDescriptor to search records in relatively large dataset.

The above screenshot shows the capability of UXDataComboBox to search the records in the server-side and returns only the matching result to the client-side. This operation is performed dynamically based on the keyword typed in the text box.

UXComboBox supports editable mode that works in conjunction with the text search. If you enable both editable and text search feature, UXCombobox automatically completes the text whenever it found a match in the items. However, the default behavior doesn’t refresh the list in its result box with the item selected that was returned in the text box of WebCombo.

For such requirement user experience, I’d like to suggest using UXDataComboBox control. Hope this helps.
