Hi,

Today I opened VS2010 and the Intersoft products aren't shown in the Toolbox.

I ran the Intersoft ToolBox Utility for Visual Studio and click on Register, the process finished and the problem remains.

Is there a way to fix this problem?

Yesterday it was working fine and I really don't know why it doesn't work today. No new installations or anything else.

Dave

Hello Dave,

If it is a bug that we found during development, of course it would not be stated. Only the reported bug would be stated when it has been fixed in installer or hotfixes.

Well,

I manually added the controls to the toolbox, but I can't add the controls from the Intersoft.Client.UI.Controls assembly. When I try to add the assembly to the WPF Components list, it complains about missing System.Windows.Interactivity assembly (see attach pictures).

Hello David,

There is a missing assemblies for WPF components as you noticed. We have fixed and added into new installer. Please bear with us. The new fresh installer should be online soon.

Hi Handy,

Thank you for your prompt answer. Please let me know when the new installer is available.

Update:

FYI, I just installed VS2012 RC and the toolbox displays all Intersoft controls without any problem, however in VS2010 the problem remains.

Also, I want to ask if there is a way to install the templates under VS2012? I'm refering to the templates when you create a new project.

Thanks in advance,
Dave

Hello Dave,

The new installer has been uploaded. Please try it again. Unfortunately, the templates would not work for VS2012. It only can be used for VS2010. To create the template, we used wizard technic from VS2010 and combined with our own ISWizard. However, it requires some default assemblies .dll from VS2010 or .net framework 4.0. Of course when installing VS2012RC, the assemblies and wizard are different. That's why the templates would not work.

We prefer to wait VS2012 become stable. After that, we can try to develop the template based on new .Net Framework.

Hi Handy,

Thank you for notifying me about the updated installer.
I'm curious, is there a RSS feed or similar where we get notified about this kind of important fixes?
I can't find it on your site, and which I believe is important for customers to know. Just my two cents.

Regarding the templates, I hope to see them when VS2012 goes RTM.

One last thing, should I click on repair using the new installer or should I uninstall it first and then install it again with then new setup?

Can you share with us the changelog or what files are now included which where missing in previous installer? I always like to know what changes are involved before applying a update, or in this case, reinstall.

Thanks,
Dave

Hello Dave,

There are no logs that saved during the changes. But only some missing assemblies and update sample which we accidentally found during QA. Actually, it would be the same. The installer would uninstall the old one and reinstall again.

But personally, I suggest you to uninstall it manually then launch the new installer.

Handy

Hi Handy,

But if there is a bug fix, it is announced?
That's my main concern.

Btw, the toolbox is now fixed. I have to uninstall first and then reinstall. Repair didn't work.

Thanks,
Dave
