Hi,
I am evaluating WebScheduler to use in a new project. We like the user interface aspects of the controls.
In our project, we would like to have the data source as Google Calendar events instead of locally stored and maintained in SQL Server database. That means, we should be able to pull the list of events from a google user's calendar and display on web scheduler. Any add/edit/delete operations on webscheduler should directly reflect in user's google calendar. Can u pl suggest the best way to implement?
regards,
D2
Hello D2,
Ok, let me try to help you based on my understanding.1. It is true that WebScheduler does not support Google calendar yet. You will need to handle your Google Calendar info. Any changes in Google Calendar should be saved into your database. With this database, bind into WebScheduler. WebScheduler only need to be refreshed everytime you do changes in Google Calendar.
2. We have server side event to handle add, delete and update. It should be returned parameter which you can use in Google Calendar.
Above opinions are based on my knowledge about WebScheduler. I hope this can answer what you are looking for.
Regards,Handy
Unfortunately, Our WebScheduler does not support Google calender. You will need to handle on your own manually when add, edit and delete an event in Google calender because WebScheduler does not handle this.
Hi Handy,
thanks for your response.
Yes, I understand that WebScheduler doesnt support google calendar. I just wanted your opinion on the best way to implement. I have following approach in mind:
1) Pull Google Calendar info in the webscheduler database, rest of the things would be taken care by the web scheduler framework. This would require least amount of changes on the webscheduler part but would be slow as for each refresh/change it would go to google calendar to insert in the webscheduler db and then retrieve/display from the db.
2) Can I plugin my code somewhere in the webscheduler so that instead of reading/saving from/to db, it would go to google calendar?
Pl note that in both cases above I'm writing my own code hence not expecting webscheduler to just work out-of-box.
thanks for your advise in advance.
