XHTML Doctype Problems

As others have noted on various threads, there is a problem with the XHTML doctype in WebGrid 7. When I replace the HTML doctype with XHTML in the Chart_AutoResize.aspx, the chart does not render properly. Only about half the chart displays. I noticed this on all of our charts in development and went to the sample project to try to figure out what the difference between the working and non-working charts was. After hours of changing various settings, I finally changed the doctype and I was able to reproduce the error. When I changed the doctype to html in my development project, the chart displayed correctly but then my CollapsiblePanelExtender stopped working, as it requires xhtml. I have tried the various workaround proposals on other threads but none of them have worked.

1.) Has this been fixed?
2.) If not, is there a release date for the fix?

Thanks,

Brad

As Andi explained on following thread, http://www.intersoftpt.com/Community/WebGrid/XHTML-DocType-and-Charts/, please ensure that the height of WebGrid is set in pixel (not percentage).

Hope this helps.

Yudi,

I have tried that and it did not work. I actually downloaded his zip file, added it to the sample solution, and ran it and I got the same error. When I removed the xhtml doctype on this solution, it worked fine.

My colleague, Andi, has forwarded this to WebGrid development team.
I’ll keep you updated with any new we heard from the team regarding chart feature and xhtml doctype issue.

Thank you.
