I am using the webgrid 7 with client binding / web services. everytime the grid loads, It calls the webservice twice, first to get data , next to get total number of rows. Is there anyway to call only once and have the grid to load the data and also get the total number of rows ?
Or Is there any client side event that I can add, then programmatically set the total rows and cancel the request (selectcount request) that fetches the rows count from web services ?.
please advice. thank you.

I am sorry that I was not unclear to explain it to you.It is getting called twice only in ClientBinding Paging scenario.Paging needs total count before it can load the records.Regards,Handy

Unfortunately, this is a default behaviour. That is the mechanism when using client binding. There is no other way to integrate into one.
