Hello Nick,

You can get the JSON data by enabling Client binding. Currently, if you only use ServerDataSourceID, it will not generate JSON. However, you can trick it by enabling Client Binding property.
To see the JSON data, you can try to inspect in OnResponse clientside event.

There should be some information about JSON data such as, WebGrid1.XmlHttp.responseText;

This approach doesn't work. When I change

BindingOperationMode = "ServerBinding" to BindingOperationMode = "ClientBinding"   on any simple Intersoft grid then I get an error. It is hard to believe that you can do it with no error. Can you send me any sample please

As I mentioned in previous thread, http://www.intersoftpt.com/Community/WebGrid/JSON-for-Server-Databinding-grid/, I need to clarify your WebGrid7 build version. If you are using build .419, no wonder you got the error. This is known issue in .419.
To make it work, you can downgrade to .418. Here is the attached hotfixes.
