Hello,
By default, we are displaying entire self referencing nodes of grid as expanded. Now, Assume that user have toggled the Expand/Collapsed state of few self referencing tree nodes inside the grid. We need to maintain the updated Expand/Collapsed state of those self referencing nodes after the post back of the page.
We have tried the following settings to maintain the state. It did not work with the self referencing hierarchical webgrid.
[Instance of webGrid].LayoutSettings.RestoreExpandedChildRows = true;
Can anyone solve this problem? Waiting for the positive reply

As a workaround, you could try buffering the expanded self reference row which was opened just before the postback is triggered, and re-expand the self reference row during WebGrid initialize client side method.
Attached is a simple sample that demonstrate the workaround.
Unfortunately, WebGrid has not support state persistence in self reference in a postback scenario. The property you mention, RestoreExpandedChildRows, will only persist the state of the a Child table in a hierarchical Webgrid.
In that case, can you please suggest some alternative solution for this scenario ?
