If I place an unbound grid onto a form and try to perform a Refresh, RefreshAll, or SendCustomRequest from he client side, I receive the following error.
Unhandled Exception: Unable to communicate with server.
I have the latest build of the WebGrid 7 from Studio.Net 2009.
What I had to do was have the page post itselft.
Once I did that, I was able to manage my grid better.
You can close this issue.

Unfortunately if you create a grid in Unbound Mode, you can’t refresh the grid. If you still really in need to refresh the grid, the only solution, which I not suggest, is a manually method, where you have to clear the grid’s display, then you must refetch the data from the new recordset. Hope this help.
