Each time I open a page with a combo box the webcombo.js fails on each of the following lines of code:
v50372 =v2998.XmlDt.documentElement
var v1ce37 =this.FrameObj.parentElement
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Ethan
Hi Ethan,
Please let me know step by step to replicate the issue. Also, please ensure you have using all the latest assemblies in your project bin folder.
Regards,Handy
I have the same files on my laptop and my workstation and my laptop works no problem. The step-by-step is opeing any page with a webcombo on it and I get the 2 error messages right away upon loading the page.
You said that it worked no problem, right? So, which one that showed the error? Also have you used the latest assemblies? I run WebCombo with no error at all in here. You can also open our live sample or WebCombo sample. Both of them should be working fine. If you don't mind, you can send a simple sample that replicates the issue.
I said that on one machine it works no problem and the other it does not. I do not doubt that the code will work on your side.
I am looking for suggestions as to what is configured differently on the machine that does not work. Do the lines that are erroring tell you anything about where I should look for an issue? The combo boxes work fine, but it is not fun to click through 2 messages boxes each time I do a post-back.
To clarify:
On this line of javascript: var v1ce37 =this.FrameObj.parentElement
I get this error: Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object required
Immediately after above error I get another error:
On this line of javascript: v50372 =v2998.XmlDt.documentElement;
I get this error: Microsoft JScript runtime error: 'XmlDt.documentElement' is null or not an object
Also, when I set VS to work with safari I do not have problem. It only happens in IE.
Hello Ethan,
We need your help to investigate this issue. The problem is, we could not just investigate or analyze the issue only based on the lines error you stated. Some of our codes have been obfuscated, so we will need a simple runable sample which replicates this issue for investigating the issue. I hope you understand about my point.
I enclosed a sample website of WebCombo 4 as attachment. Within the sample website, there is only one sample page, Default.aspx that contains unbound WebCombo with SmartWebResources registered.
I’d like to ask you a favor by open the website on the computer that has the corresponding issue. Please follow the step-by-step below and let us know what you may find.
This sample website worked smoothly and the page was rendered without any issues. Should you find any error when test the sample website, please kindly let us know.
