Hello Niven,
Unfortunately, we are using WebGrid 6, so I cannot try your WebGrid 7 hotfix. Will you be able to provide a hotfix WebGrid 6 to address this issue?
Darlene
Niven,
Does the issue occur in the latest version of WebGrid or just Web Grid 6.0.7200.211?
Hi Niven,
Is there any news on this issue? Will there be a workaround or a hotfix for it in Webgrid 6.0.7200.211? Also does grouping work without error for a self-referencing grid in the latest version of Webgrid?
Thank you very much.
I executed your sample from Visual Studio 2008
(Version 9.0.30729.1 SP) on my laptop. It is running Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 SP 3.
Sorry I cannot allow you to remote into my computer.
Version 9.0.30729.1 SP
Microsoft .NET Framework Version 3.5 SP1
on my laptop. It is running Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 SP 3.
Using your directions, I see product version 3.0.5000.606 which appears to be a later version than the one you used. Do you still think that the framework version 756 build should fix this problem?
Thanks,
Our framework version is 3.0.5000.1, so it is different than the one you are using.
I didn't find a SelfReferencingwithHierarchicalGrid.aspx in the samples, but I did find SelfReferencingAndHierarchy.aspx. It had a grid with grouping turned on. I executed that sample and got an error. Here is the scenario that I did:
1. expand the row with Andrew Fuller
2. expand the row (under Andrew Fuller) with Steven Buchanan
3. group by the LastName column
4. got the JavaScript error: childNodes is null or not an object
So not exactly the same error I see with my project, but similar. Can you tell me what needs to change in the sample to fix that error.
