Hi Guys,
Am not sure if this is already documented, but is there a property that we can set to limit the characters entered on a TextField or TextView using the form builder? Can you please provide the link to this, if any. Otherwise, please let us know how.
Thanks!
We have recently released Crosslight 2 Update 3 which includes the enhancement to limit characters on the StringInputAttribute class. Please click here to read the official release notes.
To apply this update, you are required to re-install Crosslight using the latest installer (Intersoft Studio 2014 Service Pack 1) which you can download here.
Currently, there is no property in Crosslight v2 FormMetaData to limit characters (MaxLength). The article in http://developer.intersoftpt.com/display/crosslightapi/StringInputAttribute+Class shows the members exposed in StringInputAttribute class.
I will have this forwarded to Crosslight development team and get back to you as soon as possible.

The dev team agree to enhance the StringInputAttribute class so that it will have a property to limit characters. It is filed under CROS-394. This is expected to be available in the next build/hotfix.
Hi! What's the status of this issue? It's been almost a month, so we're kinda hoping this has already been taken care of. Please advise. Thanks!
Crosslight development team has managed to implement this for iOS and Android platform. The implementation on WinPhone platform is in-progress state.
Should the nightly build ready, I will provide you with the link to download and test the nightly build. Please feel free to ping us at any time regarding the progress of CROS-394.
Hi JimmyIf i know wrong, what you want is to add is binding to form properties for example like this:[Editor(EditorType.TextView)][StringInput(Placeholder = "iPad 4 Mini, 64GB", MaxLength = Items.FieldLength , AutoResize = true)]public static string Description; Is this what you want to achieve? If yes i'm afraid this is not yet supported, however if this is really crucial to your project, i can pass your request to our developerBest Regards,Arief
Hi Jimmy,Looks we will support that function in the future version of Crosslight, we aim to implement this by allowing user to Bind specific properties rather on form metadata but inside BindingProvider to specific properties. Best Regards,Arief
@JimmyOur estimation is after Crosslight 4 Release, maybe in the next version of Crosslight because it could affect the Form Builders Frameworks
@JimmyYou can expect the release for Crosslight 4 in this month, so be sure to stay tune for our newest updates!I will inform you regarding properties binding if there are new information from our developer.
