Hello Crosslight Support,
I have a question about the new "Ad Declaration" in the Google Play Store. Starting next year, every Android app has to declare if it is using ads or not.
For my existing apps I wanted to make the declaration in advance. But some of the apps failed. For these apps Google assumes they are using ads but the really don't.
This is caused by some strange dependencies of the play services library. My apps use location and map services and there is a reference to the play services library.
This article has a good description of the problem: https://commonsware.com/blog/2015/11/19/why-play-store-thinks-app-has-ads-when-does-not.html
I am not sure if I can solve this by changing my app manifest or if it is some Crosslight component which causes the problem.
Do you have any advice how I can use location and maps in my apps but avoid the general dependency to the play services lib?
Thanks,
Thomas
Thank you for the report regarding this ad-declaration problem.
I have forwarded this to Crosslight development team to be investigated further. Should I heard anything from the team regarding this, I will let you know.
