Could you please try to set ControlDataTransferFormat property in WebGrid to “JSon” ?
This should resolve the Chinese character issue.

And please let me know if the issue still persists or not.

Perhaps, try to set the “EnableLoadOnDemand” property to “False” or you could use caption in English for a while.

sorry,there' something wrong, I sent it again for you .

I know in just simple grid scene.it didn't make errors,but in this scene it did.The scene is when expand the treeview node,when the treeview node is the bottom of the node that has no childnode,and its node name is"非球面",the node will trigger a server side button events, the events would bind a datasouce to webgrid.when click the node(非球面),the grid has data now.the problem is that when I set the grid caption in Chinese,it excute successful,but when I click one grid column to sort, it cuase error and it can't expand the other eclapse node(the document has discribed ) ,but when the grid caption is in English, it didn't cause errors,everything is OK,but our project should show Chinese in the UI, so we don't know how to solve this problem.

In my PC,the project is running OK,now I will send you another sample(ftp://211.101.1.108/customer/project_24733.zip),in this sample,you should do something first:You should see the document first,and enter the project WebContent\Login.aspx.cs to modify database connection string,then add an exist project(a.mdf is which contains in the package I sent to you )in App_Data file.The last thing you should do is executing the project just in Login.aspx.

I wonder if this may be the compatibility problem.....

I tried to run sample on my end, but unfortunately, I am having difficulty running your sample.
So I decided to make a simple sample based on the issue that you describe in your post.

I bind WebGrid to access data source control (Northwind database & Shippers table)
And then I set the column caption to “从”. However, I can’t replicate your issue on my end.

Would you mind to have a review on my sample and let me know if there are settings that I missed on my sample?
So I can reproduce your issue on my sample.
