Sorry for the late respond.
This issue has been fixed. The fix included in 2009 R2 release. Please install 2009 R2 in order to get the latest build version.

I was able to repro the issue on my end. I have reported and forwarded this issue to WebGrid development team. A work item, #423, has been created regarding this issue.

I’ll keep you updated with any news I heard from the team regarding this issue.

I can reproduce it now - the filter row has to be shown with CellSelect mode on too.

With e.Layout

.AllowFilter = Filter.Yes

.AutoFilterSuggestion = True .AllowContextMenu = True .FilterBarVisible = True

.CellClickAction = CellClick.CellSelect

End With

I have attached the sample ASPX page (it belongs in C:\Program Files\Intersoft Solutions\Intersoft WebUI Studio 2009 R1\Samples\For ASP.NET\ISNet.WebUI.Samples\vb\WebGrid

I also included in the zip file the recording of the error. FYI - the video first includes a demonstration of another issue I brought up in the forums about SelectedObject on serverside so I can post there too, but the 2nd part is the JS error.

Thank you. I right-clicked on the GroupHeader row, not the GroupByBox element. However, I also couldn't reproduce it with that sample. I will try to figure how which other setting is needed to replicate, then post the sample.

I tested in Grouping.aspx (WebGridSample) with your settings. But it did not return any error at all. Please see my recording and let me know if i am missing something when trying to replicate your issue. FYI, I also used 2009R1SP1.

If I have a column groupped, then right-click on the Group Header, I get a JsError:

Line 7 - Microsoft JScript runtime error: 'null' is null or not an object

The WG code failing is:

The cell HTML is:

I have the following setup:

AutoFilterSuggestion = True

CellClickAction=CellSelect

AutoFilterSuggestion = True

CellClickAction=CellSelect

With a quick Js debugging session, it looks like the WebGrid is trying to get the cell's column name by cell, but the context menu Cell is really a TR for the GroupHeader (which is correct, but failing).

If I set AutoFilterSuggestion = False, then the error does not occur and the context menu appears without error (however does not have the auto-suggest options)

I am running WebGrid 7 from 2009 R1 SP1 (the latest from 9/1), but this error occurred in non-SP1 as well.
