&lt;p&gt;So, for example, if&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt"&gt; MainMenuBar.CommandClientSideEvents.OnClick has an event, let's say "OnClick" and this returns false, then no post back should occur.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Right now we achieve our end result by setting AutoPostBackMode using No (no post back) when we use our custom OnClick and then we post back as needed via&lt;span style="font-size: 10pt"&gt; cmd.OnPostBackClick().&amp;nbsp; Although this seems unreliable now in v9 per my other &lt;a href="http://www.intersoftpt.com/Community/WebDesktop/After-v9-Update-WebMenuBar-OnMenuItemClicked-Handler-Is-Not-Hit-Consistently/" target="_blank"&gt;menu thread&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 9px"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;span style="font-size: 9px"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
