Fixes and Enhancement in Intersoft Community Forum

We are grateful for the feedback we received regarding Intersoft Forum Community website. We have implemented some of the feedback, please see the details below.

Here are the fixes:

When a post is viewed, the view count is now properly increased by one.
You can now highlight post content in IE browser for copy operation.
The read status of threads now works in Home and Thread List pages.
The user that marks a thread as answer is now noted in the thread status and activities list page.
Attach files now works properly in Chrome browser.
Upload files now works in Mozila Firefox 3.5 browser.
Error will no longer occur when an attachment is deleted.
Filter by forum and activities now work in Opera 10 browser.
Latest activities link in breadcrumb now refers to the related page.
After entering a search query, users will be redirected to search page and the query text will be displayed in the search input box.
The correct records will be retrieved when navigating through the threads and posts in User Profile page.

And these are some areas that we enhanced:

Login and logout operation is now much faster by eliminating scripts reload.
Added Profile Quick Access in the User Profile box. You can now easily view your threads, post, activities, and favorite threads from a single menu.
Added My Favorites. You can now mark a thread as your favorite thread and they will be listed in Favorites tab of your profile.
The thread list page now lists 15 threads per page.
The answered status of threads is now indicated by the related icons in the thread list page.
Added See all threads link where users can view all threads without forum filtering.
Enable spell checker in text editor.
Enhance the button behavior when creating a new thread to prevent multiple posts submission.
Users will now be alerted when they tried to submit content while the "Insert Codes" content has not been inserted to the editor.
In Chrome and Safari browsers, the code written in "Insert Codes" pane will now be persisted when the pane is closed.

Highlighted Text Disappears After Changing Color Via Toolbar

There should be three lines below with "This is line two." in red. However, when I highlighted that entire line and selected a Red (what color you choose doesn't matter) color, the line disappeared. I've been able to duplicate this several times.

What's Up With Search?

I just searched on "conditional formatting" and got the following results:

No results were found for the query "conditional formatting".

Note the title in the following post. I'm assuming the search function does NOT search the title?

Searching Within A Specific Forum And By Specific User

The search seems to only be available at the top level. As this forum grows, it's going to be more difficult to get more narrow searches if we're forced to search the entire community. Please add this to the forum "wish list." We need a search feature that:

- provides searches within a specific forum or selected forums
- provides searches by a specific poster/user
- provides search results by either threads or posts
- provides a limit for how old the threads are to search through

How Do I Get To My Posts?

I can't seem to find any way on this forum that gets me to all my posts and/or my subscribed posts. Other forums have a dashboard or UserCP option that allow a user to get to all the threads they've posted in. Maybe it's there and I'm just missing it.

Thanks for using Intersoft Community Forum! In today's update, we have addressed several issues that you reported since the intial launch of the Forum:

"Select File" now works properly in Firefox 3.5.2. The affected fixes for WebTextEditor and WebFileUpload component will also be included in the upcoming SP1.
<script> will no longer caused issue in content.
Paste code from Visual Studio directly into text editor is now supported (although we suggest to use Insert Code feature whenever possible)
+ sign is now persisted properly in the content (during Design and HTML switch, and Save)
<, >, / and other symbols are now properly handled and no longer causing issues in content.

In the upcoming weeks, we'll add several more nice features, such as "Add to my favorites", images gallery (for easy images uploading and insertion through WebTextEditor), and more. Stay tuned!
