In my test, you could use the SelectedValuePath to set the primary key column and the SelectedValue property will accept / filled with the primary key value.

Attached is a simple demonstration of the scenario.

I'm having problems getting the UXComboBox to work correctly, the ClientUI2010_Samples has an example combobox that displays the contacts state, however this is a very simple example and in a real world example the StateCodeName wouldn't be stored in the contact record rather the primary key of the state table would be stored.

If the State combobox displayed records from a table that had a primary key and it was that primary key that was stored in the contacts table how would the combobox properties be setup ?

I have tied using the SelectedValue and SelectedValuePath but the contact record is never updated.

Can you please provide a more complete example.
